If you have my best interests at heart, then you'd respect this request rather than making me rather upset by arguing with me about it. As I've already said, any suggestions for improvements about my music - and I'm just referring to my music here, not all of my output in a general sense - will not help me; they will only upset me.
I will have to say what I said earlier may have been a poor choice of words. As much as I hate talking about people as if I know them, even if you hate us for critiquing your work, do so politely then kill us cruelly in your mind. Also, having your best interests at heart =/= not making you upset.

I will say this again: anything that leaves the safe confines of your desktop and is uploaded onto the Internet is subject to opinions, good and bad. If you want no one to criticize it then keep it on your hard-drive and nowhere else. While you do hold the right to ask people not to criticize your work, they are by no means obligated to listen to you.

I understand that your music is important to you. If you really care about what people say (and take great offence to it) then don't post it. Again, you *can't* stop people from making whatever comment they desire (well, technically, you can, but it doesn't reflect well on you).

I suggest you take a look at this ∞ Wikipedia article ∞ which explains why no one cares about what other people think and where the phrase "the Internet hate machine" comes from.

Again, just because people have opinions about your work doesn't automatically make them right nor wrong. They're just opinions and you cannot assign a truth value to their content. I hope you understand.

I requested that people didn't criticise my music. The result is that nobody criticised my music. Only that two people started arguing with me about how I should not ask people to not critique my music because it won't do any good. Even though it has.

Then why are we still talking about this? Something tells me that the impression that the post gave to those two people appeared to be saying that you don't want criticism because it makes you upset for that certain piece. Miscommunication perhaps?
