MARDEK RPG: Chapter 1

This is the new version of chapter 1, using the engine made for chapter 3.
Play as a hero named Mardek as he saves a princess from a dragon! Or is there more to it than that...? (Hint: Yes, there is.)

Not much traffic here anymore. Hopefully someone can help. I'm new to the Markdek series, and kinda new to rpgs in general. When I started playing Mardek, there was a "React" bar near the bottom while fighting the Monsters and The Dragon. It's not there when fighting the Fumerats in the sewer or the Fungoblins in Soothwood. Does the React bar only appear for certain monsters or did I screw up the game somehow?

Take a closer look to the lower side of the screen. Doesn't it say "No attack/defense reactions available!"? Equip some in the menu.

Ok, I got it now. Thanks for the help. Chalk it up to a lack of experience with this kind of game. And thanks for the quick response!

these games never get old, I hadn't realized what fun can come from pushing the "x" button to select an option until I found this game!

I've gone through so many computers, so I had to restart it all, and I thought.... "I have to do this over? Well, at least it isn't all bad!" ^_^

I'm not sure if you knew this but...It IS possible to transfer the Flash files from one computer to another. I'll tell you if you wish to know how.

Open up "My Computer" or Windows Explorer
Type %appdata% in the address bar
Find the "Macromedia" folder and go into it.
Go into "Flash Player" and "#SharedObjects"
Go into the folder that is a bunch of random numbers and letters
Find the "www.fighunter.com" or "chat.kongregate.com"
Those are the MARDEK saves.
Put them on a flash drive and on your new computer.

If you have any difficulty, just ask.

One question, in ''chat.kongregate.com'' you have the saved file of your game on Kongregate? because I play my games there, and I didn't find this...

Ok. Let me think...

For one thing, what is your Operating System (OS)? That is very important in this process.

Secondly, did while you might not have found the "kongregate" folder I mentioned, did you find the "fighunter" folder I mentioned?

My OS is Windows 7. Yes, I found fighunter, but I don't play MARDEK here.

Ok, well, first of all, let me apologize for letting this sit for so long. I don't get much time to check Fig Hunter as of late.

If you play MARDEK on Kongregate, then it should be fairly easy. Just follow the steps listed above to get to the folder that contains your Macromedia data (the one that contains the fighunter.com folder and whose name is just a bunch of random characters). Inside that, there should be three or four folders whose names contain the word "kongregate":
chat.kongregate.com
www.kongregate.com
assets.kongregate.com
Your MARDEK saves should be in one of those three folders.

(Sorry if what I wrote is a little confusing! I can re-word it, if need be.)

Could anyone help me? Whenever I set the amount of data that can be stored to unlimited it reverts back after about a week without my input. This clears my data for the series and forces me to not finish the third chapter (I don't have enough time before my data is gone) I am using Google Chrome and I have set it to save cookies. I would really appreciate help - I want to finish this masterpiece of a series.

Just some advice, most people on this site are not too fond of curse words. Might be a good idea to tone it down a bit and use proper grammar.

What is the program that you use to make your mardek games? Rpg maker 2003 or what?

See ∞ Fig Hunter ∞ . If you scroll down a bit, it says the program he uses. Try to also read ∞ Fig Hunter ∞ and ∞ Fig Hunter ∞ , if you haven't already. All 3 of these pages contain rather useful information about this site and A β Pseudolonewolf himself.

Welcome to Fig Hunter!

He doesn't use some cheesy drag and drop instant RPG maker, he uses flash professional, a full-fledged programming language!

It's odd, whenever I play MARDEK I seem to have yellow lines - outlining squares and rectangles in variation - spread out across the game screen.
Must be my machine for what-ever reason, except this hasn't happened before. I'll chalk it up to a hardware error on my end, it's not that distracting.

Amazing games, all three. The characters stick inside my mind and I find myself coming back to them after all this time.

If you right-click on the game, there might be an option that says something like 'Show Redraw Regions'. If you click that, it should go away. (The rectangles show when that mode is active, so you must have somehow turned it on by mistake and need to turn it off again.)

Yes, I was sure that may have been it, but when I went to check, there was no 'Show Redraw Regions' option in my drop-box. Most odd.

Now considering how long Mardek 3 is, just imagine how long the 4th will be! absolutely delightful! <EDIT: Despite my Sarcastic personality, I did mean it when I said it would be delightful! I absolutely LOVE long games. Except when I lose my progress; that sucks.>

I'm new here so may I ask what plugin I'm missing? I'm only asking because I never get this problem from other sites.

Does your browser not tell you which plugin you're missing? It should just be requesting Flash Player, which you should already have, and I'm getting no problems loading the games here so I don't know why you'd experience issues... What browser are you using?

Google chrome isn't always the best option when playing games, but don't use Internet explorer either, the controls will have an 80% chance of sticking, and that ruins game play. If I were you, I'd try Fire Fox. I use chrome, because I have an older computer, and there's less to run.
<EDIT: Sorry for the run on explanation, I tend to rant a lot. Anyway, It may just be that you may not have an updated version; as everything has requirements.>
