MARDEK RPG: Chapter 3

The third chapter in the story of MARDEK. Mardek is now a Royal Knight, who's sent on various missions for the King. Of course, things aren't that simple... And Rohoph's still alive; the Governance de Magi can't be havin' with that.

Chapter 3 includes oodles more party members, and less linear gameplay. Exciting.
It took forever to make - three years! - because I recoded the engine from scratch, which took a while and many failed attempts, and removed a lot of enthusiasm that I had for the game.

This chapter contains 40+ hours of gameplay, and includes remade versions of the first two chapters.

I just had the biggest moment of enlightenment while I played Mardek I ever had. It even beats the moment where I found out how to keep Vehrn and Zach at the end of Chapter 2, so that they earn Mahou Shoujo powers during their solo team adventure in the Sun Temple.

I realized that the attack I've always read as 'Vicious Ooze' really is 'Viscous Ooze'. It took approximately 6 years for me to read that attack right. Now it even makes sense that it lowers agility.

Sun Axe- Extremley useful for shadow temple, only available this once, has 5 % drop rate from an enemy that has a 1/10 chance of spawning.

I totally love the entirety of the chapter. I had just started playing the series in late January and I found myself completing the 3rd chapter already. It is a wonderful game, full in itself and very well developed in an agreeable pace with the funny or appropriate dialogues and connections. It also gives an in-depth feeling and you do not just play it through. You also think and dive deep into the experience, which is what a game should be. You get involved in MARDEK and you yourself are changed with the characters. Thumbs up for Pseudo!

I loved Mardek 3,it was long and interesting and a spectacle of gaming history.If the chapters to come are this good,then i'll know i'll love them.

Nothing new or anything, I guess, but as I find me replaying Mardek again, because I lost my saves again, I was entering the curious metal building which curiously appeared in a curious manner above the Dark Temple and Rohoph mentioned the unusual strong gravitational pull of Belfan. Now I am, as everybody else here too I expect, familiar with Dragonball Z and am drawing the conclusions: The inhabitants of Belfan are pretty much naturally stronger than the wimpy aliens that dwell on planets with a gravitational pull that's weaker. That's why some hillbilly guards men could defeat one of the top seven mages of one of the magic savviest races of the figverse with some mere few years of guard training and like two days of field experience. All makes sense now.

Just a thing i have to say. Basically leveling up is pointless. You get more health and AP, but really just that. When you level up, your stats, besides health, won't change. You need items. So you just gotta be lucky to get good items you can sell. Items are the only way to increase your stats. That and AP, so leveling is okay a little, but you get those special abilities from items.

No, that's not how it works. The damage/healing your attacks and skills do are based on the stats AND the level. Leveling up raises HP based on VIT, MP based on SPR, increases damage of attacks and skills, and, every few levels, gives you an AP.

I just want to mention that Pseudo has said that MARDEK RPG IV will likely be significantly shorter than this one in length. It will probably be closer to the second game's length.
