Some would argue that this would suggest that the three religions are basically talking about the same god, which just CAN'T be a coincidence.
They're right, I think it isn't a coincidence. I believe the religions were created simply to control and manipulate a large group of people so that the clergy could hold power next to the nobility.

Other than that, I believe this video would word my view better than I could: ∞ YouTube ∞

Well now, this is a fair thread to be made and I'll give my answer:
the people here.

I must admit that I'm not really a social person. Lots of people annoy me and I'm not the type to easily feel comfortable around others. Yet on this website I have found a select few people I like to interact with, which is amazing all on its own. Throw in the witty conversations we can have and you can see why this place is a daily source to gather some social interaction.

Other than that I also like to think and to spread my thoughts with others, leading to (civil) discussions. There aren't a great many places out there where 'intelligent' debate is encouraged. Experience has taught me that most people tend to focus more on stuff that happens in their daily life; from waking up weirdly to getting some extra sauce on their junkfood to having to do homework. Yet they shy away from me when I try to talk about Hobbes or WW1 and want to discuss my morality with them. Which is odd, because I'm not that intelligent that I should come off as threatening... o.O

Other than that, I'm also interested in art, but I'm not that fond of talking about it. I prefer to listen to others and ask them questions.

And the games... Well, truth be told I never found them THAT entertaining. They're fun, sure, but I haven't played them hours on end like some people seem to do here. So yes, the games are a bonus, not the core of this website.

I think that's a short summarization of what I look for when I come here. Thanks for reading.

Thanks.

Well, I'll confess that my initial reaction was the complete opposite. I joined Archive for the first time 7 years ago, when I was 13 years old. The atmosphere scared me, because back then my English wasn't the best (still isn't) and I didn't know as much as I do now. Most of the people, including A β Pseudolonewolf, were older than me and I generally didn't know what to say. I stayed for a month or so, mostly talking about Mardek 2, but left quickly. After that I checked the website from time to time, but I never really bothered as much. I'll admit this is something I regret a lot now, seeing as I do something feel out of place when I see people talk about the past, the past I could've been a part of.
And even when I rejoined the website two years ago I still didn't immediately become a port of the community. I first became member of Introverse, had some mess with A β Pseudolonewolf because of my depression and fears and after I was 'persuaded' to leave I started paying more attention to this website. I'll admit I was afraid, because I had been listening to A β Pseudolonewolf's rants about the place and how he felt it was a toxic place... So not exaclty fun, but I'm happy I stayed. I'm sure some people would have preferred I stayed away, but there you have it...

Yes, I believe that might be a factor that plays into this. However, as others have pointed out it might also be because the core community has become smaller.

I admire that as well, but I do know the flaws of this website as well, as I have written down in a good 15,000 letters. Still, I like it here and I'd wish this would stay. It could do with getting more active, but all-in-all I'm happy with everything.

Yep.

Yep.

I understand. Just take a few deep breaths and lie down on this conveniently placed electric bed. Let all your problems be shocked away! :D

For some odd reason I just can't seem to be to answer to this, so let's see if it works with some more fancy words:
"Oh my jolly goodness! Hath thine mobile communication device truly brough such havoc unto this fine page of the internet?"

Mania is not a tyrant my dear Jaffa... Mania... is an β Mania!

And I wouldn't throw a walrus at you... I'd throw a moon you. A lot heavier.

As for the venting part; well, I guess everyone needs to get things off of his chest once in a while. Just make sure not to do anything you'll regret later on. Take it from someone who knows.

Well, personally I find it annoying when a conversation or topic is being discussed only for someone to enter and to try and turn the entire conversation to his or her liking. I feel that those people should wait a bit or that they should allow a second conversation to be spawned, although of course that causes the necessary confusion...

Regardless, I personally dislike it when people enter the chat and ask questions out of the blue about topics that are completely random to me when another conversation is going on.

Yes, I think that might be plausible. I do believe we need more active members or at the very least I'd prefer a few of the newer members staying rather than just lurking until A β Pseudolonewolf posts a blog.
And judging from my own experience with these threads the more general topics or even opinions tend to be more appreciated, because I think it appeals to more people. We both agree that this website was created to promote A β Pseudolonewolf's games, which is where the main focus lies. So it's somewhat understandable that the more specific and intellectual topics that have little to do with the games would be less popular.
That being said, I personally enjoy them once in a while, so they're not all that bad.

Argh, I hate these scenarios that don't have an easy answer...

Hmm... While I understand your frustration and while I certainly don't deny that such people do exist I'd say that it has lessened a bit, if only because there are less active members.
Although what you bring up is a wonderful notion of people needing to deal with the context. To me it seems that these 'infernal vampiric familiars' often just don't understand or care that the others don't know what they know. In fact, maybe that's where a lot of these conflicts come from...

Then again, I don't know the intentions of the people you describe, so I can't really explain it all that much. Take everything you just read with a grain of salt.
