I agree, but I wouldn't suggest that. Instead, I would suggest that you right-click and open the page in a new tab, the way most people do.

On that note, do you think it might be a good idea/feasible to have links open in a new tab when clicked, rather than opening in the same tab? I'm not sure how difficult it would be to change this, but it would do wonders for situations like this - it would also help for misclicks, sometimes people try to click the "reply" button for a PM just before the chat moves, and they end up clicking a username and being redirected.

I only open things in new tabs occasionally, so I'd not make all or most links open in new tabs, especially when that's optionally possible anyway. There are some places where I've made it so that links open in new tabs, but I can't remember which pages they are on.
If there are specific sections where it seems like this would be best, then it'd probably be more useful to hear about those individually.

I agree. As long as it doesn't disturb the current progress of something you're in the middle of doing on one page, it should be fine to just right click and new tab. Thanks for responding Pseudolonewolf!

Myself and a few others that I know usually do have the sense to alt-tab on their own, but then there's people who don't have the sense to, and people like Jughead who just absolutely refuse to (he prefers to do it every few seconds and spam the chat with his entry/exit message)... It would mostly be useful in the chat room for meaning to click the reply button and accidentally clicking something else instead when the chat moves (that actually happens fairly often), but I agree that it's not really super-important because most people have the common sense not to do it on purpose. More specifically, setting it so that clicking on a username opens the user's profile in a new tab could solve all aforementioned issues with this.
Thanks for getting back to me on this, I appreciate it.

Opening pages in separate tabs should only be reserved for opening external links (which, really should be set to open in new window as window => tab conversion is an option in and of itself).

After searching the new site for a while, I couldn't find any information about a RSS feed for the developer blog. Is the lack of an RSS feed intentional?

MINOR CHANGE: Adding some "alt" attribute content to the FLIGS that remind us what each button stands for (mostly for the benefit of new voters, and me, because my memory is awful). Also to the "coin" thing at the top, maybe?

There already is such a thing, for FLIGS at least... A tooltip should be appear if you hover over them for a second or so. If you can't see it, then that's strange and I don't understand why.

Hm. Thanks for letting me know, I'll submit a bug report to Mozilla then. I'm running on their Firefox 9 beta release, and I've experienced a few weird bugs with it (such as disappearing background images).

So, you need to bookmark the page about FLIGS and keep it handy to reference while you post and rate.

Figcoins aren't implemented yet. He'll get to it, it's already known that some pages aren't quite functional yet.

Could it be possible to make a page where you can see all the members from a certain country?
For example when I click on the location block in my, or someone else's, profile.

BUG: Italics wrapping quotation marks causes backspace characters to appear before the quotation marks, like so:

\"This is an italic quote\"

An organization of the forum page would be appreciated. The way things are now, threads are bumped off of the main page in two days tops, which isn't long if you think about the speed at which a forum can progress.
Providing categories like the last site would be a good idea, the main forum page would look less cluttered and there would be more threads showcased at once instead of the jumble we have now.
This could also be useful with the Roleplaying issue. If there were a Roleplaying-only section in the forums, it wouldn't have to be mixed in with the rest of the threads, which is something that was mentioned in chat before.

I don't know if this has already been suggested or not, but I think it'd be very convenient if you could add Interests simply by clicking on the Like or Hate portion of the page (kind of like the Friends feature), rather than having to add them via the Settings page.

This would take loads of effort and be of no significant benefit... I've got so much stuff to do that I don't really want to have to worry about things like this.

Looks like it was me who was sending you bugs via PMs. Sorry.

PKMNTRNRPatrick is on my friend list, so therefore has a star. It is that star that is the problem. In chat, his star overlays his text, cutting off a small part of it. In chat-PMs, his star is overlaid by the scroll-bar. I have two pictures of this: ∞ LINK ∞ and ∞ LINK ∞ . I also have a screen-shot of a PM to him: ∞ LINK ∞ .

I questioned β Mania about this, he said it is either my screen being to small, or his name being too long. No one else had this problem, but no one else was his friend. So therefore no one else had the star.

Whilst discussing this, we went about the option of shortening PKMNTRNRPatrick's name. If no other fix can be found, then with his consent it would be good if you could change it. We questioned doing without the 'rick' at the end, making 'PKMNTRNRPat', or 'PKMNTNRPatrick'.

(This is a double post because it is a different issue.)

SavageWolf did it by accident first, I found out how it worked. What happened is you can post nothing, literally, and it sort of ruins the flow of the chat. Here is a screen shot: ∞ LINK ∞ .

What happens is if you type nothing, or just a space, then it will not post. However, if you type in a formatting, then a space it does show up. As nothing. I found out that these work:
Code:
/ /

Code:
_ _

Code:
* *

Another thing similar to that is how you can post nothing in PMs. Here is a screen shot: ∞ LINK ∞ . This should not be too great of a concern, because it would mean that trolling would only happen to one person. And if that person wants to spam the other person regardless of the consequences that is their problem.

It appears that in the forum, when erasing part of a post, the character count does not change. (note that typing again does set the character count to the correct number) This potentially could allow someone to create empty or under fifty character posts. As a reply to this, I will check whether either is possible, or if it is not possible at all.

Edit: just checked, the character count updates when Post is clicked, making this *almost* a non issue.
